"There is no substitute for hard work" - Thomas A. Edison
Practicing is very important!
In order to succeed in orchestra, practicing your instrument at home is necessary. My philosophy about practicing is the more days you practice is more helpful than the amount of minutes. I would like my students to practice 4 times a week (or more if possible). They will have a practice sheet to fill out for each practice. As the student completes a practice sheet they will play me a bench mark exam and will receive a belt (modeled after karate) on their bow. Who will be a Master Belt before leaving Reynolds?
