Tony Cardamone, Principal of Elden Elementary School, has been selected as the 2012 New York State Elementary School Principal of the Year by the School Administrators Association of New York State (SAANYS). The award is given annually to a SAANYS member who sets the pace, character, and quality of education for the children in the school, has made a commitment to parents and community, and has shown evidence of outstanding contributions to the community and the educational process.

Cardamone has served as Elden Elementary School’s principal for seven years. The previous eleven years he taught kindergarten, second grade, and reading in the district.

“Tony Cardamone is a dedicated administrator, committed to providing the students under his care with the quality education they deserve and the guidance and environment they need to reach their full potential,” noted Superintendent Jeanne Dangle.

Cardamone is now in the running for the title of National Elementary School Principal of the Year, which the National Association of Elementary School Principals will announce later this year.
