Baker High School has been ranked in the Washington Post’s 2012 list of the top high schools in the country. The school is ranked 123 in New York State and 1,706 out of over 22,000 public high schools in the nation. The list is composed of more than 1,800 high schools representing the top nine percent in the United States. Baker High School rose in the rankings from 2011 by 23 spots in the state and 108 spots in the country.

The newspaper ranked schools using its Challenge Index, which divides the number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and Advanced International Certificate of Education tests a school gave in 2011 by the number of seniors who graduated in June 2011.
