9/2012-Presentation on Parent-Teacher Communication

A group of Baldwinsville seventh-graders has memorialized a friend with a special collage at Ray Middle School. Wayne Dodge, who would have been a seventh-grader at the school this year, passed away in December 2010. Last year several of his classmates decided the best way to honor his memory would be to create a symbol of his spirit. Under the supervision of art teacher Debra Lynch and school social worker Jill Joseph, students spent time after school over the last two years to create clay tiles with etchings of cranes on them that they have assembled as a collage. They chose to honor Wayne with the crane because it is a symbol of hope. The collage is now on display in the school’s main hallway.

Students who created the memorial are Jody Allen, Jacob Bardenett, Tyler Bausch, Amanda Byrns, Miranda Clark, James Coomey, Maia Falise, Destiny Gardner, Paul Schmid, and Gabrielle Sellin, Wayne’s cousin.
