District Crowns Spelling Champion


On November 16, the Baldwinsville Central School District held its Oral Spelling Bee Championship.
 
Bianca Gascon, an eighth-grader at Durgee Junior High School, was crowned the district spelling champion for the third consecutive year. Rory Mastine, also an eighth-grader, won second place, and Emma Huhtala, a fifth-grader at Palmer Elementary School, placed third.
 
These three students have qualified for the Post Standard/WCNY Spelling Bee written test, which will be given in January. The following Baldwinsville students have also qualified for the written test:
