Baldwinsville Named A Best Community For Music Education for 8th Year


Best Community for Music Education Logo The NAMM Foundation has recognized the Baldwinsville Central School District for its outstanding commitment to music education with a Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) designation. This is the eighth consecutive year that the District has received the designation. The District joins 527 school districts across the country receiving the prestigious distinction in 2017.
 
The Best Communities for Music Education awards program recognizes outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students, and community leaders who have made music education a part of the curriculum. The designation indicates that a school district has an exceptionally high commitment and access to music education.
 
To be considered for a Best Communities for Music Education designation, applicants
must complete a survey and answer detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program and other factors that affect access to music education for all students.

“The District is very honored to be named a Best Community for Music Education designee. Our talented and dedicated music instructors, as well as our supportive District administrators, the Board of Education, our students, parents and the entire community have made this prestigous honor possible for eight consecutive years,” said Matthew McDonald, Superintendent of Schools. “In Baldwinsville we value music education as an important part of our overall curriculum to provide our students with a well-rounded education.”


The Baldwinsville Central School District’s music teachers are Jennifer Bearup, Megan Brody, Paul Carter, Donna Cole, Kristina Czerwiak, Cynthia Doback, Laura Dusart, Rebecca Dusart, Justin Ezzo, Dana Grimaldi, Patricia Hollis, Christine Isbell, Katrina Kahl, Colin Keating, Brittany O’Reilly, Aliza Stoll, Steven Uhl, Jennifer Vacanti, Casey Vanderstouw, and Timour Vernyi.
