|Baker Student Named a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist
||Matthew King, a senior at Baker High School, has been named a semifinalist in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship competition. He is one of the highest scoring entrants in the competition. Students qualify for the competition when they take the PSAT their junior year. He moves on to the next round of the competition, which is for a spot as a finalist.
|District Seeking Budget Committee Volunteers
The Baldwinsville Central School District is beginning the development process for its 2018-2019 budget and is seeking community input through budget advisory committees. The District is looking for volunteers to serve on these committees to review specific areas of the budget and to provide input on the budget components as well as recommendations for cost savings prior to the budget components being presented to the Board of Education for review. |Helping Your Teen Thrive: A Mini-Conference for All Parents
All district parents are invited to attend the "Helping Your Teen Thrive: A health & wellness mini-conference" on Wednesday, October 18 at 6:00 p.m. in the Baker High School auditorium. Julie Smith, a nationally recognized expert on teen safety in a digital environment, will provide the keynote. Afterwards, parents will select from a wide variety of workshops presented by community members on topics including stress reduction in teens, monitoring your child's mental health, the opioid epidemic, and nutrition for athletes, among others.
