|District to Begin Electronic Flyer Distribution In January
The Baldwinsville Central School District is committed to educational excellence and ensuring that parents stay informed about important activities and events in the local area that enhance their child’s life. In an effort to improve parent and community engagement, the district will begin using Peachjar, an electronic flyer communication tool, to send digital flyers directly to our families, as of January 2, 2018. Paper flyers from organizations will no longer be sent home in backpacks. READ MORE
|Please Vote to Help Create Baker Food Pantry!
Ryan Micho, a junior at Baker High School, has entered the high school's Key Club in a contest sponsored by Nickelodeon to win a grant for the high school to create a food pantry for Baker students. "Bee Full" is the name of the food pantry. Micho says the need for a food pantry for students is great, and if the Key Club project wins, the money will enable the school to house the pantry at the Baldwinsville Volunteer Center where there is plenty of room.
Many students get two meals a day at school but on weekends go home and have no food until they come back to school on Monday. The school will be able to buy food for the weekend for 50 students and their families. Students would pick up a bag of groceries at the Baldwinsville Volunteer Center each Friday to take home. The center is located on Mechanic Street in the village, just a few blocks from the high school and will not be charging any fee to use their space.

Hockey Team Cuts Ribbon on Newly Renovated Locker Room
On November 28, the varsity hockey team held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly renovated locker room of the Lysander Ice Arena, where the team rents the ice to practice and play its home games. The team thanked the Baldwinsville community, parents, the team’s booster club and alumni of the program for supporting the renovation, including former player Eric Schneider, Class of 1988, who donated $10,000 for the renovation. Help also came from Baker High School technology teacher Jamie Cuyler and his students. They made the locker room’s new lockers and boot rack.
