Unit Planning Materials

Planning a unit of instruction begins by identifying the learning targets (benchmarks), designing lessons to meet those learning targets and identifying all of the resources that will help students learn the content. Below are tools designed to assist in this process.

Unit Mapping 1
This tool can be used by teachers who are identifying multiple instructional units within a content area. Space is provided to note benchmarks, lesson titles/ideas/topics and available resources. This could be used as an initial tool for gathering ideas over time and for brainstorming. |Download Document|

Unit Mapping 2
This tool can be used when doing comprehensive planning of a single unit. Space is provided to note benchmarks, lesson titles/topics and available resources. |Download Document|
