Principal Chiodo's March Message

Principal Melissa Chiodo

I hope all Reynolds families had time over the recent mid-winter recess to spend time together and that you got a chance to get outside when we all had that taste of Spring here in Syracuse.
As we all return from break, I know that the safety of your children here at Reynolds and around the country is on everyone’s minds. I, too, worry about my own high- schooler and middle-schooler every day when they leave the house. I want to take a moment to share with all of our families that since arriving at Baldwinsville, I have been continually impressed with the dedication that this district has regarding the safety of our students and staff. As you have seen reported in the local news, the district works with first responders and national experts, illustrating its commitment to providing the safest learning environment possible by training staff how to identify and respond to potential threats.  Ensuring your children’s safety is my number one concern daily.
As winter slowly departs Syracuse, I want to remind all of you that if you are missing hats, boots, jackets and/or any other item, please encourage your child to look in the lost and found bin, located in the cafeteria. If you would like to look yourself, please visit during after school hours. While we always try to return items with names on them to their rightful owners, we still have a number of items looking for a home.
They say, “March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb,” and there are more than a lion’s share of activities at Reynolds this month:
March 2            P2 Assembly and End of PARP celebration
March 9            Grade 4 field trip to Baker HS for Peter Pan Musical
March 9            PTA Movie night
March 15          Kindergarten Registration 1-3pm and 6-7:30pm
March 16          NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS – Superintendent’s Conference Day
March 22-24     Shrek Musical at Reynolds
March 27          PTA Meeting @ 7 PM
March 29          Lifetime Activity Day
March 30          NO SCHOOL – Good Friday
As we enter March, I wish you and your families well and, as always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
