Senior Ben Dwyer is a Finalist for Prestigious US Army - Pro Football Hall of Fame Award

The district’s athletics department held its annual award ceremony on June 7 to honor student-athletes for their achievements this school year. The evening began with a presentation honoring Baker High School senior Benjamin Dwyer, who is a finalist for the US Army - Pro Football Hall of Fame Award for Excellence. Pro Football Hall of Famer Thurman Thomas presented Ben with a jacket and a football. Ben is one of 25 athletes across the country who are finalists for the award. The winner will be announced in August.

Each year the Award for Excellence program recognizes 25 outstanding high school student-athletes who are chosen as finalists based on their excellence in academics, athletics and community service. It is a great honor for a student to be selected as a winner.

Dwyer plans to attend MIT in the fall. He is the valedictorian of the Baker High School Class of 2018, quarterback of the Baldwinsville varsity football team, a starting defenseman for the Baldwinsville varsity hockey team, and a starting defenseman for the Baldwinsville boys varsity lacrosse team.
