November 9 is Now a Half Day for Students

At its September 10, 2018 regular meeting, the Baldwinsville Central School District Board of Education approved amending the 2018-2019 school calendar to include a 1/2 day of professional development for staff safety training on Friday, November 9, 2018, resulting in a 1/2 day of school for students in grades K-12.

Dismissal on November 9 will be as follows:

Baker High School – 11:02 a.m.
Durgee Junior High School – 11:11 a.m.
Ray Middle School – 11:15 a.m.
Elementary Schools – 12:15 p.m.

November 9 will also be the district’s annual sheltering/go home early day, which is a change from the original date of Tuesday, November 20, 2018. There will be no sheltering drill on November 20. Ray, Durgee and Baker will dismiss at their regular times. The elementary schools will dismiss at 11:30 a.m. for parent-teacher conferences.

The November 9 safety training for staff members will be an active shooter simulation conducted by Armoured One. The simulation will include law enforcement and emergency personnel. The district will provide more information to the community regarding the training closer to the event.

Thank you for your attention to these changes to the 2018-2019 school calendar.
