27 students to compete in regional written spelling bee

Twenty-seven Baldwinsville Central School District students will compete in the regional written bee of The Post-Standard | Syracuse.com | WCNY Spelling Bee.

The regional written bee takes place on Saturday at Christian Brothers Academy. The 35 top scorers on the written bee will compete in the oral spelling bee on Feb. 29, 2020. The oral spelling bee will be televised on WCNY.

The winner of the regional oral spelling bee advances to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in National Harbor, Maryland, near Washington, D.C., in May 2020.

The Scripps National Spelling Bee is the nation’s largest and longest-running educational program. The purpose of the Scripps National Spelling Bee is to help students improve their spelling, increase their vocabularies, learn concepts and develop correct English usage that will help them all their lives.
