And the band played on: Baldwinsville Marching Band to return

The Baldwinsville Marching Band took part in the 2020 Rose Parade.
We are pleased and excited to announce that the Baldwinsville Marching Bees will be able to return to the field this school year.

School superintendents in the greater Syracuse area have met and agreed that field band activities can resume starting Monday, September 21st, 2020.  Baldwinsville is still working out its return schedule and will announce more information soon.

Each of the regional marching bands have agreed to follow state and national safety guidelines for rehearsals.  This non-competitive field band season will culminate in a socially distanced community show at the end of October.

The September/October session is “phase one” of the 2020-21 Baldwinsville Marching Band program.  We are currently exploring all options related to safely re-starting our winter, spring and summer marching band-related ensembles.  Band Director Casey Vanderstouw and his team of instructors are currently finalizing safe rehearsal and performance procedures, music and drill.  Details regarding upcoming rehearsal dates will be announced soon.

The Bees Marching Band is a charter member of the New York State Field Band Conference, and most recently represented New York State on January 1, 2020 in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California.  We are excited to support the Marching Bees in their return to rehearsals and performances. This is an exciting day for our music program, our marching band students and the greater marching band community!
