Tanya Rosado-Barringer joins Board of Education

The Board of Education appointed Tanya Rosado-Barringer to the vacant board seat at the regular board meeting on Monday, December 21, 2020. 

Tanya is an experienced ENL teacher and administrator with a public relations and development background. She currently serves as the Executive Director and Coordinator of the Mid-State Regional Bilingual Education Resource Network, which supports 126 districts and nine BOCES. Prior to moving to Central New York, Tanya served for eight years as an ENL classroom teacher and a Lead Teacher for the New York City Department of Education.

Prior to her role as an educator, she worked in public relations and development in the theater and tourism industry in New Haven, CT.  She holds a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism from Hofstra University with a minor in History, a M.S. in TESOL Education from Lehman College and a M.S. in Educational Leadership from Bank Street College. She has a certificate of completion from Bank Street College’s prestigious Bilingual Education Teacher Leadership Academy (BETLA).  She is New York State certified in TESOL, K-12 and holds an administrative certification in Educational Leadership (School Building Leader [SBL]). 
 
Tanya actively volunteers as Director of Regions for New York State Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages. Tanya is eager and excited to collaborate with the distinguished Board to serve the greater Baldwinsville school community.

The board seat was vacated by Christian Pavetto Bond, who resigned in October. The term for this Board of Education position will expire May 18, 2021, the date of the annual school board elections. If the Tanya wishes to continue in the position, she will need to run for a three-year term in the annual school board elections on May 18, 2021.
