TiKTok star joins Ray Middle School musical cast during Zoom rehearsal

The Ray Middle School cast of "The Big One-Oh" had a special Zoom rehearsal recently with TikTok star Dan Mertzlufft.
Mr. Mertzlufft is most known for his Thanksgiving musical on "The Late Late Show with James Corden" and his viral music videos on TikTok, including Ratatouille, the TikTok Musical, which has raised more than $1 million to benefit The Actor’s Fund.
Mr. Mertzlufft was a member of the original production staff for "The Big One Oh" and he currently works with iTheatrics to make sure that young people everywhere have access to quality musical theater programs.
Mr. Mertzlufft joined the Ray Middle School Zoom rehearsal on December 21st. He shared some wisdom with the cast and his perspective of what the show means to him and future audiences.
"Sometimes in life we have boundaries placed upon us, but we can find freedom within those boundaries," Mr. Mertzlufft told the student actors. A great lesson for us all during these times, and Baldwinsville Theater Arts Program is so proud of this middle school cast for taking on the challenge of exploring those boundaries!

Show Synopsis: Charley Maplewood has never been one for parties – that would require friends, which she doesn’t have.
Well, unless you count her monster friends, but they’re only imaginary. But now that she’s turning ten—the big one-oh—she decides to throw a birthday party for herself, complete with a “House of Horrors” theme. Of course, things don’t work out as she plans.
Will Charley be able to pull it together before the big one-oh ... becomes the big OH-NO!?
