A message from our Athletic Director: New winter sports dates and registration information

Parents & Guardians,
 
The New York State Public High School Athletic Association Inc. (NYSPHSAA) announces high risk sports have been authorized by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) to begin practice and competition on *February 1st, 2021, if permitted by the respective local health authorities.
 
On Friday afternoon, the NYSDOH released updated Interim Guidance for Sports and Recreation During the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency. On page 5 of the document it states, “Effective February 1, 2021, participants in higher risk sports and recreation activities may partake in individual or distanced group training and organized no/low-contact group training and, further, may partake in other types of play, including competitions and tournaments, only as permitted by the respective local health authorities (i.e., county health departments).”
 
With this information, the following adjustments have been made for you to register your student athlete(s) through Family ID. https://www.familyid.com/organizations/baldwinsville-central-school-district

New Winter Sport Start Dates & Family ID Registration Dates

ALL WINTER VARSITY, JUNIOR VARSITY & MODIFIED SPORTS (V Ice Hockey, boys & girls V/JV/modified basketball, V/JV cheer, V/JV/modified wrestling):
Sport Begins – *February 1, 2021
Registration Begins/Opens – January 25, 2021
***DEADLINE TO SIGN UP IS January 29th
 
* February 1st, 2021 if permitted by our local health authorities

Family ID Reminders

IMPORTANT: If you have already signed up your son or daughter back in December 2020. You must reregister in order to meet the mandatory 30-day health history requirement.
 
ONLY Parents/Guardians Can Sign Off Electronically on the 6 Agreements:
  •  Athletic Code of Conduct
  •  Athletic Code of Conduct Availability and Acknowledgment
  •  Risk of Injury Acknowledgement
  •  Pre-Participation/Health History Agreement
  •  Concussion Information Acknowledgement
  •  Medical Treatment Authorization
Note: If a Student Athlete electronically signs off on these agreements, he/she will NOT be cleared and could prevent them from starting on time.
Parents and Guardians: PLEASE sign up your son or daughter at the school they are currently attending (Ray Middle School 7th grade, Durgee Junior High School 8th & 9th grade, & Baker High School 10th, 11th, & 12th grade).

Athletes are cleared in the order they registered in, so the sooner you sign up the quicker you will be cleared.  Don’t wait!
