Reese Pesarek and Julia LeMay developed the idea to honor the Annal sisters, who attended Palmer Elementary and passed away in a car accident in September. The Board of Education and Acting Superintendent Joseph DeBarbieri honored Public Information Specialist Sarah Buckshot for her hard work and dedication. In her role as our communications specialist, Sarah is an invaluable resource for our school community. She understands all forms of social media and news reporting and utilizes multiple platforms to engage and communicate events using technology that reach all of our families. Attendance and participation at our events since Sarah has been with us has increased significantly. She understands that true family and community engagement is much more than just sharing information but rather involving families by sharing stories, heart warming sentiments and asking for input. Sarah has been especially helpful during the pandemic when families haven't had the access to schools and events that they would have in a normal year. She has a knack for capturing the magic of each event along with the excitement of our students. She is very enthusiastic, knows how to communicate with students, and is passionate about promoting the BCSD. In sum, she's a wizard who can sprinkle a little fairy dust on a picture or video and turn it into a professional looking piece of media art.
