C.W. Baker High School announces Commencement Ceremony plans

May 4, 2021

C.W. Baker High School is pleased and excited to be able to announce that our Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2021 will be held right here at home, in the Pelcher-Arcaro Stadium on Friday evening, June 25th at 7 p.m. There will be two back-up rain dates of Saturday, June 26th at 7 p.m. and if necessary, Sunday, June 27th at 11 a.m.

The District submitted this proposal as required for all large events to the Onondaga County Health Department and are awaiting official approval. We are planning for graduating seniors to be allowed a minimum of 4 guests, and possibly more, but again, are awaiting official approval.

Proof of vaccination OR a negative COVID PCR test within 72 hours of the event OR a negative COVID rapid/antigen test within 6 hours of the event will be required by all attending students and their approved guests. The District will plan to provide a rapid antigen test clinic for any interested students and families just prior to the event, further details will follow.

"We appreciate your patience and understanding as we have worked at carefully selecting and securing a venue and date/time that will best serve our students and the commencement celebration that they deserve," said Principal Kris Denton. "After careful review of updated guidance from the NYS Health Department and consideration of multiple venues and dates, the evening of Friday, June 25th at Pelcher-Arcaro Stadium will be the perfect time and place to celebrate the amazing Class of 2021."

C.W. Baker High School will release further information when this plan is approved by the Onondaga County Health Department.

"We will keep you informed every step of the way," Denton said. "Again, thank you so much for your continued effort and support on behalf of the Class of 2021 and GO BEES!"
