Back-to-School edition of the Hive available online

August 24, 2021

The new school year is right around the corner and it is our pleasure to welcome our returning families and those who are new to our District. We are also excited to have our buildings full of students again as we are planning on a full reopening, five days a week, for all students this fall. The first day of school is Wednesday, September 8, 2021.

You should have received the Hive to your home or you will receive it in the coming days. Please take the time to review it because it contains several important forms for the 2021-2022 school year.

Baldwinsville's teachers, staff, administrators and school board members are committed to providing a safe, inspiring and inclusive learning environment for all students. Let’s make this a tremendous year!

The District calendar will also be arriving soon. Prior to 2020, important forms were delivered with the calendar. Now all forms are included in the Hive.

Here are some highlights from The Hive:

Food Service:

All enrolled students will receive breakfast and lunch at no charge for the 2021-22 school year. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) extended its flexibilities it granted to school meal programs to provide breakfast and lunch at no cost for all enrolled students, regardless of family income. If families are eligible for free and reduced price meals, they are still encouraged to fill out a Free and Reduced Price School Meals Application, which is located on page 21 of the Hive. Or you can download it HERETHIS APPLICATION MUST BE MADE EVERY YEAR.

No Image Request:

The District often features images of students, usually identified by name, school and grade, in district publications (including, but not limited to the calendar, website, newsletters, posters, and on the District’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages). We also share images of students with the local media (including, but not limited to newspapers and television stations and their websites and social media sites). If you DO NOT WANT your child’s image to be taken and used by the District or local media during the current school year, please fill out this opt-out form and return to Public Information Specialist Sarah Buckshot, Baldwinsville CSD, 29 East Oneida Street, Baldwinsville, NY 13027. THIS REQUEST MUST BE MADE EVERY YEAR. If you have questions, please contact Sarah Buckshot at 315-638-6180 or sbuckshot@bville.org. Download form HERE. If you DO NOT RETURN this form, the district will assume that YOU GIVE PERMISSION for your child(ren) to be photographed as well as identified by name, school and grade in district publications for the current school year, as well as shared with the media.
