 2021-2022 NON-INSTRUCTIONAL VACANCIES:

School Lunch Director 2

Seeking an experienced food service director to plan and direct the operation of the school lunch program in eight school buildings with a student population of 5400.  Successful candidate develops the annual school lunch program budget and establishes and maintains budget control procedures.  Establishes accounting procedures and maintains and/or supervises the maintenance of financial records.  Plans school menus working within current USDA meal pattern regulations.  Coordinates the purchase of food, supplies and equipment including arranging for delivery and security, preparing bid specifications and purchase orders, maintaining records, and recommending the purchase or replacement of equipment.
Selects, trains and supervises school lunch personnel, determines staff assignments and evaluates work performance.  This is a 12-month position and candidates must currently hold the School Lunch Director title or meet Civil Service requirements of the position.  Competitive salary dependent upon experience will be offered along with a comprehensive benefit package. Summer Technology Laborer
Assist in disconnecting classroom equipment and bundle in a consistent and orgainzed fashion and move to temporary locations.  Recconect classroom equipment, test reconnected equipment for connectivity, install classroom hubs and other equipment on walls.  Must be physically able to lift and move 50 pound objects, willing to work in hot, dirty environment.  Have reliable transportation and able to move to different school buildings as needed.  Have the ability to take direction and then work independently, .  Ability to use small power and hand tools.

School Bus Dispatcher
The position involves the responsibility for supervising bus drivers and bus attendants, dispatching and routing of school bus runs, assist in handling phone calls, bus stop questions and complaints.  May confer with parents and principals on student behavior problems. Assists in scheduling substitute bus drivers and attendants.  Candidate should have good knowledge of transportation methods and programs related to school districts, ability to evaluate personnel, ability to maintain harmonious working relationships between drivers, parents, principals, and knowledge of NYS Motor Vehicle Laws and State Education regulations.  Good knowledge of modern office technology.  May drive a school bus when required.  Position governed by Onondaga County Civil Service.  Must currently hold the title of School Bus Dispatcher and be eligible for inter-agency transfer or be eligible to take and be appointed from the Civil Service list.  Apply:  School Bus Dispatcher

School Secretary

The School Secretary is responsible for the efficient operation of a school main office or district department. Employees in this class independently perform a variety of complex clerical operations and minor bookkeeping functions. The position is responsible for handling administrative details by arranging conferences and appointments, directing inquiries or problems to appropriate school officials and generally assisting the school principal or administration by relieving the Principal of routine administrative tasks. Work frequently involves contacts with faculty, student, parents and visitors. Work is performed under general supervision with some latitude for making independent decisions in routine matters. Direct supervision may be exercised over one or more clerical subordinates. Does related work as required.  Position is governed by Onondaga County Civil Service and the candidate must either be currently employed as a School Secretary I and eligible for an inter-agency transfer or eligible to take and be appointed from an upcoming Civil Service list.  Apply:  School Secretary I

Job Coach
The Job Coach will work at specific job locations training students with disabilities in a work/study program.  You will train student(s) in proper employee behavior and how to perform worksite tasks.  Act as liaison between school district and employer.  Identify weaknesses in student(s) as employees related to employment skills.  Complete paperwork as assigned.

School Lunch Monitor
The position involves performing routine tasks related to student behavior in the lunch room and hallways.  Assisting students in the lunch room as needed.  This job is typically during lunch hours and is approximately 2-2.5 hours per day.  Job posting and apply to: School Lunch Monitor

Substitute School Bus Driver:

Substitute School Bus Attendant:

Substitute Food Service Helper I:
Participate in the preparation and serving of food in a school setting.  Must have the ability to effectively communicate with school staff, administrators and children of all ages, and have the ability to work in any of the District’s eight school buildings on an as needed basis. Substitute Custodial Worker:
Performs routine manual work involving building cleaning and general labor tasks. Must have the ability to work independently with little supervision, excellent attention to detail, good interpersonal skills, and have the ability to lift 50 pounds. Substitute School Nurse:
