GLUCAGON EMERGENCY ADMINISTRATION TRAINING TOOL |
| The State of New York Health Department has provided a standadized teaching tool designed to help train volunteer members of the school community in the emergency administration of glucagon. Glucagon Emergency Administration Training Tool is a 30-minute PowerPoint presentation that provides an overview of diabetes, including details on the symptoms and treatment of hypoglycemia in students with diabetes. This teaching tool has been pilot-tested with school nurses and other school personnel. Although we may not be able to eliminate diabetes emergencies, this tool will help ensure that students with diabetes can fully and safely participate in school and school-related activities. |
