Healthy Smiles visit brings dental care to 216 BCSD students
Last week, our elementary students had reason to smile as the Healthy Smiles Dental Clinic visited our schools! A total of 216 students received in-school dental exams, cleanings, oral hygiene education and preventative treatments, which are all designed to support their long-term oral health and overall well-being.
To make this possible, gymnasiums, classrooms, conference rooms and even a principal’s office were transformed into fully functioning dental clinics. Students felt safe, comfortable and cared for while receiving essential dental services in familiar, welcoming environments.
Best of all, all services were provided at no out-of-pocket cost to families, regardless of insurance. Programs like Healthy Smiles help ensure that every student has access to high-quality dental care, reinforcing our commitment to equity, wellness and the holistic support of every child in our district.
A special thank you goes to Katie Cazzolli, School Nurse Supervisor, for organizing this incredible program and bringing it to our schools. Her dedication made it possible for so many students to benefit from this amazing initiative.
