Students Volunteer to Help:
Students from C.W. Baker High School recently demonstrated the power of service and real-world learning during VITA Super Saturday, held at Sidney Federal Credit Union.
Twenty-one Baldwinsville students earned their IRS tax preparer certification, and 17 students participated across two tax preparation days. These students, all part of the accounting and/or business endorsement programs, volunteered their time to provide free tax preparation assistance to members of the Onondaga County community. This hands-on experience not only strengthened students’ financial and professional skills, but also highlighted the importance of civic engagement and community support.
Through programs like the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) initiative, students see firsthand how their efforts can make a tangible difference. We are proud of our students for stepping up, giving back and representing our district with professionalism and compassion.
Please continue to check ParentSquare, your email and our website at www.bville.org, for important updates. As always, please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.
Have a great weekend! Go Bees!
Sincerely,
Dr. Joseph M. DeBarbieri
Superintendent of Schools
