Announcements for Friday, October 23, 2026
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Staff,
This week, our district proudly recognized Unity Day by wearing orange to show our commitment to kindness, acceptance and inclusion. While Unity Day is an important opportunity to highlight these values, we believe bullying prevention and unity are not just a day or a month of recognition. They are essential parts of our district culture and the way we treat one another every day.
We encourage everyone in our Hive to stand up against bullying, embrace differences and help ensure every student feels safe, valued and included. We are grateful to our families for partnering with us to reinforce these values at home.
Looking ahead, we invite families and community members to learn more at our next Community Café on Thursday, November 19, at 6 p.m. in the Durgee Junior High School cafeteria. The session will focus on understanding bullying and the Dignity for All Students Act (DASA), providing an opportunity to learn more about how we can work together to support a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for all students.
I have a few announcements to share with you today:
Junior Musical:
Tickets are now available for the Baldwinsville Theater Arts Program’s production of The Addams Family Young@Part, with performances at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 6, and 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 7. This comical feast celebrates the wackiness in every family, with an original story centered on Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, who has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family. There’s just one problem: her parents have never met him! When Wednesday begs her father, Gomez, to keep her romance a secret from Morticia, Gomez faces a dilemma unlike any he has encountered before. Everything turns upside down when the Addams family hosts a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents, bringing two very different families together for an unforgettable evening. Tickets are free. Reserved tickets at www.bvilletheater.com/tickets.
Join the Baldwinsville Theater Arts Program for a delightfully spooky and hilarious theatrical experience celebrating family, love and embracing what makes us unique. Go Bees!

Last Call for Sock Donations:
There’s still time to help our Hive give back! Throughout October, our schools are collecting new socks for PEACE, Inc. in Baldwinsville. As we head into the final week of SockTober, we’re encouraging everyone to donate new socks for men, women, children and babies. Socks are one of the most requested yet often overlooked essentials, and every pair can help bring warmth, comfort and dignity to someone in our community. Thank you to Van Buren teacher Emma Manning for organizing this meaningful opportunity to make a difference. Let’s finish SockTober strong!
