Ray Students Attend Cornell STEM Program: In April, Ray Middle School 7th grade girls attended Cornell University’s “Expanding Your Horizons” program, participating in a variety of workshops that featured hands-on activities in math and science for females in 7th to 9th grade. The goal of this annual  program is to introduce females to career opportunities in math, science, and engineering. Sixth-grader Wins National Writing Contest: Congratulations to Ray Middle School sixth-grader Sadie Phelps for being named a winner in the March 2018 Scholastic Scope National Writing Contest! The category she entered asked students to compare and contrast farm life in the time of Laura Ingalls Wilder with modern farm life. Sadie competed against other students in grades 6-8 all around the country. more >>
Schedule for Last Week of School: The New York State Department of Education requires students to be in session for 180 school days each school year in order for school districts to receive their full allotment of state aid. Districts can include four (4) Superintendent’s Conference Days in the 180 school day calculation, and shortened days are permitted as long as the weekly minimum instructional hour requirements for the week are met (25 hours for elementary and 27.5 hours for secondary). Ray Middle School *NEW* 2017-2018 Pickup Procedure
Parents will need to come in to sign their child out at the attendance desk for regular dismissal to ensure the safety of all students. Students will be released to the cafeteria at 2:18 where they will be supervised while waiting for their parents.
Early Dismissal pick-up: Parents picking up students any time before regular dismissal must come into the building as well to sign their child out at the attendance desk.
