Schedule for Last Week of School: The New York State Department of Education requires students to be in session for 180 school days each school year in order for school districts to receive their full allotment of state aid. Districts can include four (4) Superintendent’s Conference Days in the 180 school day calculation, and shortened days are permitted as long as the weekly minimum instructional hour requirements for the week are met (25 hours for elementary and 27.5 hours for secondary). Result of Lead Testing in Water: Over recent months, the Baldwinsville School District has been addressing concerns of sinks and drinking fountains at Elden that had lead concentrations above the allowable limits according to NYS Department of Health Regulations.  Good News! The latest test samples taken show that all are well within allowable limits. The data shows that water can now be consumed from those outlets. Attendance Matters!: Being late to school has this effect on our students: 5 minutes late over 5 days = 25 minutes of lost instructional time in a week 5 minutes late over 1 year = 15 hours of lost instructional time in a year or almost 3 days of school If you double this to 10 minutes, then you will double the time for lost instruction.
