Schedule for Last Week of School: The New York State Department of Education requires students to be in session for 180 school days each school year in order for school districts to receive their full allotment of state aid. Districts can include four (4) Superintendent’s Conference Days in the 180 school day calculation, and shortened days are permitted as long as the weekly minimum instructional hour requirements for the week are met (25 hours for elementary and 27.5 hours for secondary). 5th Grade Wax Museum: 5th graders spent library time over the past few months researching a historical figure.  After choosing a historical figure, they were guided through the inquiry process.  Then students created a word cloud and Canva graphic about their figure.  We presented their final pieces and facts in a live Wax Museum setting. Children's Author, Tom Watson, Visits Palmer: Thanks to the Palmer PTA for bringing children's author, Tom Watson to visit the students at Palmer.   His visit included talking with kids about the Stick Dog and Stick Cat books and teaching them how to draw all the characters. more >>
