Do you have a gently used band or orchestra instrument collecting dust in your attic? The Baldwinsville Central School District is accepting donations of instruments that are in good condition and not in need of repair, to be lent to district students who, because of financial hardship, are unable to rent or purchase an instrument. The district is in need of the following instruments: flutes, clarinets, saxophones, trumpets, trombones, violins, violas, cellos and basses.

The district’s music program is growing and teachers are depleting their supply of instruments to loan to students in need. Your donation will enable a student to begin or continue music instruction. The process of learning music fosters creativity, teaches collaboration, and instills discipline.

To donate an instrument to the district, please write a letter to: James Rodems, Assistant Superintendent for Management Services, Baldwinsville Central School District, 29 East Oneida Street, Baldwinsville, NY 13027. In your letter provide information about your instrument, including make, model and year. Please include the instrument’s approximate value. The information will be brought to the Board of Education for the Board’s approval, after which the district will notify you.

Please note that at this time the district is not in need of used pianos or organs.
