Army Sponsors Baker's Robotics Club
The United States Army has awarded the Baker High School robotics club a $2,500 sponsorship for the 2016-2017 school year. The club’s focus is to enable student members to use their science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills to construct a robot that the club uses in VEX Robotics competitions. Matthew Hudson, a technology teacher at Baker and the club's advisor, said the robotics club will use the funds from the US Army to aid in paying the costs associated with participating and hosting VEX Robotics competitions. Sergeant Patricia Morgan presented Mr. Hudson with a check of sponsorship at the district’s September 12, 2016 Board of Education meeting.
Marching Bees to Perform at Bills Game in December
It’s official! On September 12, the Board of Education approved the marching band to travel to Buffalo to perform a 7.5 minute pre-game show and an 8.5 minute half-time show when the Bills vs. the Steelers on Sunday, December 11 at New Era Field in Orchard Park.
The Buffalo Bills will generously pay for all of the expenses the band incurs, including transportation, meals and hotel accommodations.The team is also providing seating for band members to enjoy the game! Thank you, Buffalo Bills! Go Bills! GO BEES!!!
District to Host Community Forum on Heroin Epidemic
On Octrober 17, the Baldwinsville Central School District
will host a community forum on the growing heroin and opiate epidemic in the area as well as around the country. The forum will be presented from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Word of Life, 12 Oneida Street in the Village of Baldwinsville. The district has partnered with the Baldwinsville Police Department, Onondaga County Sheriff's Department, and local agencies to develop the presentation. READ MORE
