Baker Model UN Club Brings Home Awards


Baker High School's Model United Nations Club participated in Manlius Pebble Hill's Model United Nations Conference on October 21. Seventeen Baldwinsville students represented the countries of Sweden, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore. At the conference students researched resolutions to issues such as organ trafficking, money laundering, the Venezuelan health crisis, and the threat of nuclear war with North Korea. Students participated in debates, public-speaking, and researching compromise. Three Baker students won awards at the conference:
  
MacKenzie Randolph (junior) - Honorable Mention in the World Health Organization Committee;
 
Rachel Wittman (senior) - Best Delegate in Security Council; and
 
Rachel Ragonese (sophmore) - Best New Delegate, United Nations Environmental Protection Committee.
