Key Club

The Baker High School Key Club has had a very busy fall. In October, the club held its 6th annual coat and boot drive. Students collect 57 gently used coats,19 pairs of boots and other winter items and donated them all to PEACE Inc. to be distributed to Baldwinsville residents.

The club adopted a second grade class in Puerto Rico and has shipped 13 boxes of snack items and juice boxes to the class. They have to hold school at an alternate location due to damage from the hurricane. Items were provided by the girls lacrosse team, the Spanish club and teachers. Postage was covered by Baker staff and boxes were packed by Key Club students and by other students on the school's wellness day in October. It truly does, "take a village!"

Key Club will be busy all over town in November as the club helps at the Rotary 5K on November 11, the book sale at the public library, the Kiwanis Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day and as students decorate Syracuse Home/McHarrie Towne for Christmas on November 28.
