Baldwinsville Students Place First in Regional Skills Competition



Three Baker High School students enrolled in the OCM BOCES laboratory technician program received first place in competition categories in the Regional SkillsUSA competition held at Morrisville College on February 2.
 
In the laboratory technician program, Isabellah Hightower won first place in the Job Demo A competition, Levi Barnes received first place in Medical Terminology, and Alexis Townsend received first place in Medical Math.
 
Roughly 900 students from 18 high schools challenged their skills and knowledge in contests that included performance and written tests.
 
SkillsUSA is a national organization that connects high school and college students with employers of technical, skilled and service occupations. The state competition is scheduled for the end of April at the New York State Fairgrounds.
