Hand in Hand Student Recognition

Baker High School students Allison Hunt, Breanna Murdock and Calista Winders were selected to participate in a STEM project called Hand in Hand.  The girls helped design, build and fit prosthetic hands for local amputees at the CNY Biotech Accelerator in Syracuse. The Baker students joined other students from Central New York and worked in teams alongside surgeons from SOS, local engineers, prothetists from SPOC, employees from Partners in Education and Business and the CNY STEM Hub to create two working prosthetic hands.  The students had a firsthand experience in combining multiple disciplines including science, engineering, medicine and math to make this project a success. This was a huge team effort and we are so proud of the students that dedicated their time to participate in the community project.
