Baldwinsville Rotary names Students of the Month for January

The Baldwinsville Rotary Club named its Students of the Month for January recently, according to club President Lizzy Martin.

Ethan Schwabenbauer and Madison Manning, both seniors at C.W. Baker High School, were honored for their hard work, commitment and acts of service to others.

"Ethan was a great public speaker, addressing the club with confidence," Martin said.

He shared about his job at Wegman’s, his shoulder injury playing lacrosse and that he wants to study finance in college. His inspiration is his dad because he works hard for his family.

Madison is a dancer and cheerleader who is on student council and in the yearbook club.

"She wants to go to college for speech pathology and brought many in the room to tears in sharing that her inspiration is her mom, who is also her best friend," Martin said.

Students of the Month are chosen by their guidance counselor for being a young leader through teamwork and helping others.

"As club president, I am consistently impressed with how well the kids are at speaking in front of our group," Martin said. "We really have a lot of hope for the future with these young leaders coming up in our community."
