Important announcement from Superintendent McDonald - 11/3/20

November 3, 2020 

Dear parents and guardians,

The District was notified by the Onondaga County Health Department that we have a student at Van Buren Elementary School who has tested positive for COVID-19. District officials in conjunction with the county Health Department immediately began its investigation, which is ongoing.

The student impacted was last in attendance on Oct. 26 and is now in isolation. We can’t provide any additional information about this student due to confidentiality and privacy constraints. 

No additional students or staff members will be required to quarantine at this time, according to the county Health Department. This determination was based upon factors such as the dates of the student’s infectious period and the student’s last date of attendance.

We will continue to closely monitor this situation and communicate updates, if necessary.
