Are you interested in running for the Board of Education? Board of Education elections are held the same day as the annual budget vote, which is the third Tuesday of May. 

There are three seats open for three year terms. Three district residents to serve on the Board of Education from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2025.

Board of Education candidates must meet the following qualifications:

1.    A citizen of the United States;

2.    Eighteen (18) years of age or older;

3.    Able to read and write;

4.    A legal resident for at least one (1) year prior to the election;

5.    Cannot be an employee of the Baldwinsville Central School District;

6.    The only member of their family on the Baldwinsville Central School District Board;

7.    May not simultaneously hold another, incompatible public office;

8.    Must not have been removed from a school district office within one year of the election or appointment.

In order to run for the Board of Education you must submit a nominating petition and a completed and notarized Affidavit of Qualification to the district clerk by 5:00 p.m. on April 18, 2022 in order to be on the ballot on May 17, 2022 for the 2022-2023 budget vote.

Candidates are required to get 30 signatures on their nominating petition in order to be placed on the ballot.

If you are interested in running for the Board, you can pick up a petition and all of the necessary forms in the business office of the District Office at 29 East Oneida Street, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Use of District Resources for BOE Candidates

No resources of the Baldwinsville Central School District, including the District logo and image of the Baldwinsville Bee, may be used for Board of Education candidates’ campaign materials and activities, as this could create the impression that the school district endorses a candidate(s).  

Biography & Photo

Please provide a brief biography of no more than 230 words to Sarah Buckshot, Public Information Specialist, at sbuckshot@bville.org, as well as a headshot, to be used in the District’s budget newsletter. The deadline for submission is April 18. Candidates are encouraged to have a photo and biography submitted prior to the deadline as the newsletter goes to print on April 20. Please include your phone number with your information.
