Acting Superintendent's announcements for November 10, 2022

Dear Parents and Guardians, 

Our schools and district offices are closed tomorrow in observance of Veteran’s Day. I want to say thank you to all those in our community and members of our staff who have served. Thank you for your service, your dedication and your bravery. 

I have a few quick announcements to share with you today: 

Congratulations & Go Bees:
  • Congratulations to the Girls Volleyball Section III Champions. The team has a perfect 16-0 record. They will compete in Regionals on Saturday at Fayetteville-Manlius High School vs. Shenendehowa starting at 3 p.m.  Please remember this event is digital ticketing only through Hometown on the Section 3 website.
  • Solomon Holden-Betts came in second in the Class AA Boys Cross Country Championship race on Saturday. The first place runner won by one-tenth of a second. Solomon earned a spot in the state competition, which will be held on Saturday at VVS High School starting at 11 a.m. Tickets are only available online. Prices are $11.50 per vehicle, which covers the entire day of competition. 
  • Eva Smith, a junior, is the Sectional Champion in the 100 yard Backstroke and the 200 yard Freestyle. Eva also placed first in the state qualifiers in both of these events last Friday. The state competition will be held on November 18th and 19th in Rochester.
  • Congratulations to the Girl’s Varsity Cheerleaders who took home 3rd place at Sectionals last Saturday. 
  • Congratulations to the 18 senior athletes who took part in the National Letter of Intent Signing Day on Wednesday. Students signed their letters in the company of parents, coaches, family members, administrators, teachers and friends at C.W. Baker High School. See a list of athletes on our website.
Great job, Bees! Good luck to our Girls Volleyball team, Solomon Holden-Betts and Eva Smith as they continue to compete! Go Bees! 

Calendar Reminders:
  • The marking period ends today. 
  • There is no school for all students and district offices are closed on Friday, November 11th for Veteran’s Day. 
  • Report cards will be available in the Parent Portal on Friday, November 18th.
  • The District will be having its annual "Go Home Early" Drill on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.  All schools will be dismissed 15 minutes early to conduct the mandatory safety drill.  
  • There is no school for all students on Wednesday, November 23rd to Friday, November 25th for Thanksgiving. District offices will be closed on November 24th and November 25th.
