District named 2023 Best Communities for Music Education

Baldwinsville Central School District has been honored for its commitment to music education for the 14th year in a row. The NAMM Foundation has recognized the school district with a 2023 Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) designation.

“I am extremely proud of our music education program here at Baldwinsville,” said Deputy Superintendent Dr. Joseph DeBarbieri. “Our program is staffed by incredible musicians, artists and educators who are passionate about providing opportunities for our students.”

The Best Communities for Music Education awards program recognizes outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students, and community leaders who have made music education a part of the curriculum. The designation indicates that a school district has an exceptionally high commitment and access to music education.

“To be awarded this prestigious designation 14 years in a row is a true testament to the level of dedication and commitment Baldwinsville has for music education,” said Acting Superintendent Dr. Kathleen Davis.

To be considered for a Best Communities for Music Education designation, applicants must complete a survey and answer detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program and other factors that affect access to music education for all students.
