Frequently Asked Questions about free school meals

When does this benefit start?

Beginning January 2, 2024 all students in the Baldwinsville Central School District will receive 1 Breakfast meal and 1 Lunch meal at no cost daily. 

Who may receive meals at no cost? 

All enrolled students in the Baldwinsville CSD can receive a complete lunch and/or breakfast meal. A complete meal must include a fruit or vegetable component to satisfy the USDA requirements.

Do I need to fill out an application for my student to qualify? 

No. Families that have filled out a household income application in the past are encouraged to continue filling them out.  This may allow for additional benefits such as waivers for tests, technology assistance, etc.

What is not included in this program? 

Students must pay for any extra food items including extra entrees, 2nd meals, snacks (ice cream, chips, etc.) beverages (including milk if not receiving a complete meal). 

My student brings their lunch every day. Is milk available at no cost?

No. The program only covers complete meals. Milk will cost your student $.85 for this school year. 

Can MySchoolBucks account be refunded if my student no longer has to pay for his/her meals?

Yes. You may request a refund from the food service department via email at foodservice@bville.org. Please include in the email your name or the name of the person the check needs to be made payable to, an address and your student’s name.This process may take up to 2 weeks.
