Dear Parents, Guardians, and Staff,

Women’s History Month is celebrated in March to commemorate and encourage the study, observance and celebration of the vital role of women in American history. Today is also International Women’s Day, which is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. I would like to take this opportunity to honor the hundreds of talented, compassionate and hardworking women in our district who go above and beyond for our students. Our administrative team includes 18 dedicated women leaders who play a valuable role in the success of our district. Check out their photo below. Thank you for all you do!

I had the privilege of attending the opening night of "Matilda" the musical last night and it was a fantastic show. The acting, singing and dancing was extremely impressive. The level of talent on stage and behind the scenes is incredible. These students worked very hard for several months and it shows on stage! Great job, Bees! The musical runs until Sunday, March 10th. See details below. 

I have a few announcements to share with you today:

“Matilda”

The Baldwinsville Theater Arts Program senior production of Roald Dahl's "Matilda" the musical continues this weekend but seats are limited. Single seats are still available for several performances this weekend. For those wishing to reserve multiple seats together for the performances of Matilda tonight, Saturday or Sunday, please use the link to be added to the standby list, and arrive 15 minutes prior to show time to check in with staff. Any available seats will be given to patrons from the standby list on a first come first served basis. If you do not need tickets you have previously reserved, please notify us as soon as possible at bvilletheater@gmail.com and we can manually release the tickets so others can have the seat.

Athletics Update

Members of our Boys and Girls Indoor Track & Field teams competed in the state championships at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island last weekend. Noah Covert took 6th place in the Boys 1000 and Kamyrn Barton took 8th place in the intersectional relay for Section 3. Kam ran the 600 leg. Great job and congratulations, Noah and Kam. 

Members of our Boys Swim Team continued to break school records during the NYSPHSAA Swimming & Diving State Championships last weekend at Ithaca College. Michael “Mikey” White broke the school record in the 200 freestyle during preliminaries and placed 7th in the state in the finals. Mikey White also set a new school record in the 100 freestyle and placed 4th in the state. Alexander Nicita, Mason Stever, Matthew Lange and Mikey White set a new school record in the 200 Freestyle Relay and Mikey White broke the school record in the 50 freestyle leading off the relay. Lucas Clay placed 7th in the state in the 100 breaststroke. Lucas Clay, Alexander Nicita, Matthew Lange and Mikey White set a new school record in the 400 Freestyle Relay and placed 7th in the state. Nicolas Pompo finished in 8th place in his first year diving. This was an incredible end to an amazing season for our swimmers! 

The final winter varsity postseason action will take place this weekend with members of our Girls Varsity Bowling team. Elizabeth Hildreth and Samantha Hass will participate in the state championship on Saturday at Strike ‘N Spare Lanes in Syracuse.  Bowling starts at 2 p.m.  

Spring 2024 JV and Varsity sports start on Monday!

On Tuesday, March 12, the culminating event for our Unified Bowling team will be held at the Baldwinsville Sports Bowl starting at 2 p.m. Participating schools are CNS, Homer and Nottingham. Go Bees! 

Daylight Savings Time

Please don’t forget that Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday, March 10th -- move your clocks ahead one hour!
