 CULTURAL PRIDE SHINED AT SECOND ANNUAL CULTURE FESTIVAL AT BAKER HIGH SCHOOLThe hallways of C.W. Baker High School were alive with excitement Thursday evening as more than 30 cultures were highlighted at the second annual Culture Festival.Guests sampled empanadas from Venezuela, soda from Jamaica and strawberry drink from the Haudenosaunee. TROOPERS, THEIR K-9 PARTNERS VISIT PALMER ELEMENTARY Trooper Jeff Kissock with K-9 “Ray” and Trooper Kevin Conners with K-9 “Schini” made a special visit to Palmer Elementary School Tuesday morning to talk with third grade students. The students recently read “Aero and Officer Mike,” by Joan Plummer Russell. The nonfiction book explores the extraordinary relationship between Corporal Mike Matsik and his K-9 partner, Aero. WHAT DO YOU NEED KNOW ABOUT THE 2019 NOVEL CORONAVIRUS?Superintendent Matthew McDonald wants to make sure parents, guardians and staff members in the Baldwinsville Central School District have the most accurate information regarding the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV). The New York State Department of Education and the state Department of Health released a letter for parents, which is provided on our website."It is important to note that the same infection control measures that we use to fight yearly influenza (the flu) protect against respiratory viruses of any type," McDonald said. "Some of the best protection measures are low technology: cover coughs and sneezes, don't touch eye - mouth-nose area, wash your hands, stay home when you are ill."
