Board Candidate Information
Are you interested in running for the Board of Education? Board of Education elections are held the same day as the annual budget vote, which is set for May 16, 2023.
Board of Education candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- A citizen of the United States;
- Eighteen (18) years of age or older;
- Able to read and write;
- A legal resident for at least one (1) year prior to the election;
- Cannot be an employee of the Baldwinsville Central School District;
- The only member of their family on the Baldwinsville Central School District Board;
- May not simultaneously hold another, incompatible public office;
- Must not have been removed from a school district office within one year of the election or appointment.
In order to be on the ballot for the budget vote, you must submit a nominating petition and a completed and notarized Affidavit of Qualification to the district clerk by the time and date specified in the instructions. Candidates are required to get 58 signatures on their nominating petition in order to be placed on the ballot.
The community will have the opportunity to vote for four board members. Three board positions are for three-year terms commencing July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2026. The candidates receiving the highest votes will serve in the three-year term positions. The candidate with the fourth highest vote will serve in this board position from May 17, 2023 until June 30, 2024.
In order to run for the Board of Education you must submit a nominating petition and a completed and notarized Affidavit of Qualification to the district clerk by 5:00 p.m. on April 17, 2023 in order to be on the ballot on May 16, 2023 for the 2023-2024 budget vote.

Packets are ready to be picked up in the Business Office for anyone interested in running for the school board. These packets can be picked up between the hours of 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday - Friday. The Business Office is located in the District Office on main campus.
Please note that no resources of the Baldwinsville Central School District, including the district logo and image of the Baldwinsville Bee, may be used for Board of Education candidates’ campaign materials and activities, as this could create the impression that the school district endorses a candidate(s).
