Board of Education approves 2020-2021 proposed General Fund Budget

The Board of Education held a special meeting on Monday, May 11, 2020 via Zoom to approve the Baldwinsville Central School District's 2020-2021 proposed General Fund Budget and Property Tax Report Card.
 
The board voted unanimously to adopt the proposed $112,259,824 budget and approved the Property Tax Report Card. The tax rate is estimated to be $23.95 per $1,000 assessment or $2,395.01 per $100,000 home. This is a 2.22 percent increase from the current budget.
 
The ballot will also include two additional propositions:

Proposition 2: The District will continue its annual bus purchase and replacement program. For a total maximum cost $1,199,146, the District will purchase 11 student transport vehicles.
Proposition 3: The District has a need to purchase two new pieces of equipment. This proposition, which has a total maximum cost of $341,000, includes the purchase of 1 Cat loader and 1 snowplow truck with existing capital reserve funds. There is no tax impact for this proposition. 
 
The Budget Hearing for the 2020-21 Proposed Budget will be conducted via Zoom at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2020. The Zoom link will be posted on the District’s website at a later date. 
 
This election will be by Absentee Ballot. The District is mailing out Absentee Ballots later this month. Completed ballots must be received by 5 p.m. on Tuesday June 9, 2020 at the District Office, 29 East Oneida Street, Baldwinsville, N.Y. Each Absentee ballot will have a pre-stamped envelope you can use to mail these ballots to the District.
 
In order to be a qualified voter and vote via Absentee Ballot in June 2020 you need:
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • To be a resident of the Baldwinsville Central School District for 30 days
  • To be a US Citizen
There will be over 25,000 Absentee Ballots mailed to voters in the District. If a household requires more than one (1) ballot or does not receive a ballot for a qualified voter(s) by May 21, 2020, please contact the District Clerk’s Office at 315-638-6055 and/or tturner@bville.org.
