Five Baldwinsville students advance to oral round of regional spelling bee

Five Baldwinsville Central School District students will advance to the oral round of The Post-Standard | Syracuse.com | WCNY Spelling Bee.

Nia Delardi, 8th grade, Durgee Junior High School
Miranda Barnard, 8th grade, Durgee Junior High School

The regional written bee took place virtually this weekend. The top 30 scorers on the written bee will compete in the oral spelling bee on March 24. The oral spelling bee will also be held virtually.

The winner of the regional oral spelling bee advances to compete in the 2021 Scripps National Spelling Bee, which is scheduled for June 1-3 in National Harbor, Maryland.

The Scripps National Spelling Bee is the nation’s largest and longest-running educational program. The purpose of the Scripps National Spelling Bee is to help students improve their spelling, increase their vocabularies, learn concepts and develop correct English usage that will help them all their lives.
