Districts hosts second annual Special Champions event

May 16, 2022

The Baldwinsville Central School District Special Education Department hosted the B’ville Special Champions Track & Field Games today at the Pelcher-Arcaro Stadium.

This was the second year for the event, which featured student-athletes from all eight of our schools.

“The event was a great success thanks to all the support of our Baldwinsville community,” said Rocco Nalli, Director of Special Education. “Our student-athletes, families, and staff seemed to all enjoy the track and field events in the intimacy of our own B’ville stadium.”

Staff and student volunteers helped to make the day special for the athletes.

“We want to especially thank our Baker student volunteers for all their help before, during, and after the event and also thank the Elden students for coming down and being such an amazing cheering section in the crowd,” Nalli said. "Also a very special thanks to our Physical Education teachers for running all the events!"

Superintendent Jason D. Thomson said it was an absolutely amazing event.

“The overwhelming joy could be seen in the hundreds of smiles,” Thomson said. “Our staff and student volunteers put on an incredible event filled with fun and laughter. I hope these are wonderful memories that our families will cherish. I know that I will!  Great job, Bees! I'm so very proud of all of you!”
