Announcements for Thursday, May 25, 2023

Dear Parents, Guardians and Staff:

As we approach the end of May, we wanted to take a moment to thank our school counselors and school support teams for helping us raise awareness, de-stigmatize and take better care of ourselves during Mental Health Awareness Month. It’s been a wonderful month and we have enjoyed reading the wisdom and advice given in the “Tip of the Day.” The best way to break the stigma is to talk about mental health. Let’s continue the conversation all year long!

There is no school for students tomorrow - Friday, May 26th and there is no school for students and district offices are closed on Monday, May 29th to observe the Memorial Day holiday. This Memorial Day weekend let us remember and honor all of our heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

We have a few announcements to share with you today:

Marching Bees:

Our Marching Bees will perform in two Memorial Day parades. The Jordan Memorial Day Parade of Bands kicks off at about 3 p.m. on Saturday and the Baldwinsville Memorial Day Parade will start at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Come out and support our Bees!

Mock DWI:

C.W. Baker High School will hold a mock DWI experience for seniors at about 1 p.m. on Friday, June 2nd. The event will be held in the Baker High School bus loop. The demonstration will include police, fire, EMS and funeral services. We don’t want to alarm any families or community members.  This experience is intended to educate and warn students of the dangers of driving while impaired, especially ahead of Senior Ball, which will be held at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 10th.

Staff Directory:

Please be advised that we have removed our staff email directory from our website. Phone numbers for our school buildings, and phone numbers and emails for principals and administrators remain on our website. Unfortunately, removing our staff email directory is necessary because hackers are using our directory to undertake phishing attacks. If you are a parent or guardian and need to contact your child’s teacher, please send a message using the Parent Portal or call your child’s school for assistance.
